Residential Tree Removal
Removals in Tight Spaces Using Ropes and Rigging
Whether you have a single tree removal or a development lot to clear, Windfirm Tree Services can help. Our climbing arborists can climb and remove trees in the tightest settings using professional equipment, such as rigging and ropes to carefully lower pieces around buildings, roads, or anything else.
We also employ certified fallers, so for larger projects or multiple trees, we can help you get the trees down safely and efficiently.
Our large 15” chippers effortlessly reduce the waste from tree removals and turn them into wood chips that go on to be recycled.
Where we can, we utilize winches or our Mini Skidsteer with grapple to move and load branches and wood into our chipper, saving time and money.
Wood from the tree removals can be cut down into firewood, left in longer lengths to be milled into timber for your home projects or taken away and disposed of.
We can also arrange for the transport and milling of your timber to your specification, leaving you with nothing to do other than plan your next project!
Once your trees have been removed, you are left with a stump. If you are planning to replant, landscape or want to maximize the area, then stump grinding is the best way to deal with tree stumps following tree removal.
Tree Maintenance

Tree Pruning is used to reduce the size of a tree to allow for greater space around buildings, increase light in a garden, open mountain or ocean view or balance a tree's appearance. When we discuss tree pruning with our clients we always balance the clients’ needs with the long-term health of the trees, and you can rely on our years of experience in tree care to guide you on the best way to achieve this.
Modern arboriculture best practice has moved away from the past techniques of topping trees, and now overall reductions and selective thinning are used instead.
If your trees have previously been topped, it is still considered best practice to manage these trees by regular re-topping to keep the crown small and balanced.
All of our pruning is undertaken to ISA and ANSI 300 standards by qualified arborists and passionate arborists.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding is ideal for removing stumps when re-landscaping following tree removal. We can remove large stumps quickly and efficiently with minimal damage to the surrounding area. Our experienced operators can grind trees under challenging locations, including down slopes or around tight corners or obstacles.
Windfirm owns two different tracked stump grinders to remove any size stumps efficiently.
Our smaller tracked Bandit SG40 grinder is equipped with a 38hp engine and 18” rhino cutting wheel. Its compact size means it can fit through a 34” gateway. Being on tracks, it can fit into steep and awkward access spots.
Our Large machine is based on a Vermeer CTX 100 Tracked skid steer. It is fitted with a 40hp engine and high-flow hydraulics. This machine is ideal for large stumps where the extra lift height is useful. It can also be fitted with a bucket to spread the grindings out once finished.
